The bus can be a social place as well as a nasty place. Most of the busses in Newcastle are nice and clean n the major routes, they dont have sick all over the back seats and are not full of litter.

There are still some busses that are crap though, but get some head phones and sit down at those people sitting in the traffic jam getting annoyed and raged because theyre going no where. Youre just enjoying your music or a book.

I used to go almost everywhere on the bus and metro, now its much more dificult for me to do this. I still walk (limp/drag myself) if its local though and I can do it.

The Newcastle metro is better than the bus but in both cases the problem is the length of time you have to wait for one, here 30 minutes is common for busses and there are far fewer on Sundays. Not too bad on a sunny summer day but in winter with it snowing or raining?

Usually I end up getting a lift from my brother, although I do pay for petrol.
