Once fixed you will remember they are much better to drive than the newer cars due to less weight and a better thought/design process when building the car. :nana:

Wouldnt mind a R5 Turbo myself, although Id also like my car with a S1 rallye gearbox (Shorter ratios than a VTS) and then have a Turbod VTS engine and aim for about 200bhp from a 1.6 16V. people get up to 170bhp without a turbo. A few other transmission mods and suspension and stuff and itd be a beast I think.

Would also love a 205 1.9GTi or even the CTi and do a bit of posing in the summer  :yarr:

Same stalks I believe as a 924 (Or that might be the Mk1 golf)- easy enough to get over here

hell, you can use the same stalks as a similar age passat estate (saloon doesnt have the rear wash wipe), or the polos of the same age.  Its not like they are hard to get hold of.  I was in similar state when I had my old Mk1 GTi, and used to rob parts from the scrappy for other VWs of the same age.  Also IIRC the Mk1 Series 2 SEAT Ibiza had the same stalks as the MK2 Golf.  Father had the Ibiza, and it had the same stalks as my Auntys Golf.

screw the 1600 engine.

The Mi16/D6C/call it what you will is the best proper (Non sh*tty variable valve timing or vtec bollocks) 16v powerplant EVER.

Do most of them have the MFA controller and same wiring as a Mk3?

Sourced (stole) a stalk prity quickly. Everything is up and running again.

Hey Mark, supercharger, worth it? Been offered a full kit, same supercharger used of the Mini Cooper S....

Thats a popular conversion for a lot of motors - it wont give you a hell of a lot more power but you will notice it

will require some fabrication, and an intercooler - also some aftermarket EFi, new (Bigger capacity) injectors, maybe a new fuel pump/system (If you want to do it right) and Id also lower the CR and uprate the pistons, clutch and cv joints

Would be cheaper to buy a 1.8T 20v engine - £700 odd will get you one on the bay

Ive got one recently, but Im going to use the 2.2 20v turbo engine from an Audi Quattro

Sell me the 20v Quattro engine, with a loom and box!  :w00t:

Im looking at doing a 1.8T conversion when I blow this engine, will be happy when its hitting around 200bhp, with that Engine. More than likely a case of Forged Pistons, Cams, Uprated turbo and Inlets, Exhaust sytem, Chipped and Tuned should get me it, with the usual fuel pump swaps etc :)

Emerald ECUs programmable VIA a laptop on the fly? 550 notes for a fully manageable ECU! Sounds good to me!

Yes, and theyre very good.

If you want to use a MAP sensor they dont have one built in, but you can easily get one from many models of cars or a standard one

The Link LEM G3 does have one built in, its what Im using on the MR2, purely because it suited my needs better and had an inbuilt 5 bar map sensor.

I have an emerald M3D in the BX with throttle bodies, and just got a K3 for the other BX on saturday.

I replaced the megasquirt with the M3D as I was having issues with it - I will give MS another go someday though.
