Man is this real? if the pricings right this can be nothing other than a success surely?

Theres an electric version of the Arial Atom in the states, too which I believe is even faster than 4 seconds to 60.
-
Stunning :o
Reminds me of the electric car Clarkson drove in the Monaco episode of Motorworld - Venturi I think it was called? Although that was around the £1/4m mark.
Id imagine this is still going to cost a fortune, definitely £100k+. If it comes in under that though, it could be a real seller!
Sort of makes you wonder, why a small independant can come up with something like this, and the multinational car makers struggle to put products into the market beyond the endless runs of prototypes at trade/motor shows. :?

I suppose the downer, to driving an electric car is theres no roaring engine is there :(
Overall its good though, as itll be quieter and wont pollute - imagine biking through a town, fantastic! not breathing in crap all the time.

Thats what the CD players for, just get some recorded v8 noise to play

Nor hearing them coming.

Silent cars are dangerous.
-
I dont think its that dangerous tbh, yd still have plenty of tyre noise.
and since when can I see a car approaching from behind me anyway?!? its not like I have eyes in the back of my head - I think its not half as dangerous as you might think. They can see you on your bike, they can steer.. just as people do now.
no biggie

I realy hope this thing gets released, london would be full of them with 0 congestion carges, I imigine it could be a good rep car as it would be real cheap on the juice and little road tax.
saw the video on autobloggreen (http://www.autobloggreen.com/2006/07/20/tesla-roadster-unveiled-in-santa-monica/) with arnie in it

Venturi I think it was called?

There will be an infinite number of drivetrain mp3s with speed variability that are downloadable via sattelite. The horses hooves should prove to be popular.
-
saw this a couple of days ago, it looks great and if it can deliver will be very popular.
It is being developed by lotus afaik
-
If it is around the 15K mark Id certainly contemplate getting one...although running an extension lead from the top flat down to the car thats parked halfway up the street could be an arse.
-
there are plans in most major cities to have special parking bays for you to charge your electric car for free, london and liverpool already have some.

Taken from the site:
Plug your Tesla Roadster into the at-home unit, and you?ll be fully charged in three hours. Packed away in the trunk is an optional mobile-charging kit that proves very useful while away from home.
If I had a garage or driveway and it was around 15k then Id buy it too.
I think theyd have to develop a system where you have a really good solar panel, that is an optional extra thats on the body some where and charges the battery while going along the road.

Superb, looks amazing, no doubt this is the future of motoring..
Nice vid and more info on the linke below...

Found out a few things I didnt know. A Lotus designer had a major hand in designing it, and heres the cookie, apparently its going to be built at the Lotus factory  They also poached several Lotus engineers and execs - Lotus made them sign a no-poaching deal otherwise theyd refuse to manufacturer the car! Its a shame itll only be sold in the US :( Imagine these with Lotus badges on them.... For £50,000 I reckon theyd sell bucket loads of em!
TBH, if I had £50k and this car was available, Id have a very tough time choosing between this and an Audi RS4.
