From the industry guys on Usenet:
11-speed drivetrain systems are due out next year. Rear stay
spacing will go out to 135mm, the new standard for road bikes. This will
render all previous wheels and alu and carbon frames obsolete. Until
internally geared rear hubs take over in 2010, rendering all
derailleur-based systems as quaint and as antiquated as the lever-based
shifters of the 1940s:
In other news, the Rivendell Sauron (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/nanodrive/rivendell-sauron.jpg) introduces "Micro-Drive" allowing for less mass and wind resistance.

It was always going to happen, campag shifting xenon to 10spd was hint enough tbh.
Dont like the respacing though. I cant see exactly how 11 cogs are useful. Roll on CVT for bikes, for those that cant bear a variable cadence

135mm is old hat.
150mm is where its at, as seen on the Santa Cruz V10
-
its not a bike if it isnt as wide as it is long. now go resize your avatar and get back in your box.

Id have some bayonet bar ends!
Might cause problems with my 720 tail whips though.

Oh dont worry, I got the Rivendell Sauron. Ive seen that before.
No reason to doubt the change to 11spd though :?

I just bought a Flight Deck for my brother for xmas and the man asked me if it was 8 or 9 speed...I felt so "last-century"...

Ive heard rumours about this crazy "coasting" thing using pawls and pips. Sounds ludicrous!
And for the record 14-16-18-20-23-26 freewheels rule. 11t is for pussies.
