I'd do it for free for you... but guess it's probably more in petrol then you'd have to pay to have it done normally

just did my sisters, her's was £60 last time

When I had my first MX-5, because it was an '89 it needed some sort of special gas that was no longer available to be regassed (banned for CFCs or something :dunno: ).

I would have had to drive to some specialist in North Yorkshire to have it done... never did in the end, and haven't had a car with aircon since! I gather if you are paying to have it regassed somewhere decent they will probably clean out the filters, etc too?

my dad tried one of those kits before I bought the proper refrigeration gear...  the kit was pretty crap, didn't have enough gas in it :-(

they'll suck the system empty because it's the easiest way to check for leaks (if any moisture gets into the system it'll block it)

a clean/flush will just be them blowing through the system with dry nitrogen.... don't bother with that, it won't do anything anyway

if there's any crud/junk/etc.. in there that could be blown out, you might as well give up.... you'll never get it all out, and it only takes a tiny bit of crap to block the expansion valve and stop it working at all

if anyone local needs there's doing (or if you're passing this way) just give me a shout, I've got all the gear, plus a nice selection of gasses... including the ones you can;t buy any more :-)
