ht leeds run at a much higher voltage, but tiny amps, I dont kow why buy I have 11,000 volts in my head for some reason ? sounds a bit too much to me tho :o

thats what the coil does :)

11000v was the HT lead voltage on a B&W TV, 25000V is the colour HT voltage from what iv read

Ive only been "shocked" by a resistance tester, or whatever it was.  It was in college, electrical lecturer wanted to give us an idea of what it felt like for those who hadnt been shocked before.

I quite enjoyed it oddly tbh, the whole muscle spasm thing.  "Again, Again" :D

500v those resistance testers. they used to do that in my college untill someone nearly died of a heart attack.

Ive had several arguments with Mr 240volts and it hasnt killed me so far, saw interesting stars twice though when it was dark...

You on about a megger tester?

Modern ones charge capacitors up and discharge just using batteries. Ive been shocked by a megger a few times, used to have old ones that you had to crank up... used to play catch with them, or rather crank it up, then throw it at someone. Natural instinct was to catch it :D lol! :D

Ive had 11kV through me on a similar device, used it in EMC testing to test earthing of equipment. Was during a work experience the engineer who was teaching me for a bit gave me a jolt by surprise. made my arm and right side of my body spasm, kept having twitches for about 5 mins afterwards.

its 26,500v on a cathode ray tube in a TV I think.

Edit: The worst thing Ive been shocked with was a soldering iron. The heat combined with the spasms caused by being in contact with the mains! made for an interesting time.

OW! it tripped the leccy out in the electronics lab thank god so I released it as soon as I got shocked, but bugger me that hurt.
