to be fair i think theyll make a perfectly acceptable town car.  People buy the Copen, and thats got a piss-poor engine.  People bought Metros, and they are utter sh*t.

Theres also the Smart car which has a similar sized engine plus the ancient Citroen 2CV and Fiat 500.

Yeah, but any of those will cost you way more than that thing above will.  That said, theyll probably repackage it and sell it for £7500 over here.

tbh, if there is a family with a scooter that run around India now, this thing does a similar Co2 emissions to the scooter then what difference is it going to make?

Its also easily recyclable too Id imagine if its simply made.

I think it will be a big part to play in Indias economy, although Egg is right, demand will increase for petrol if this is popular in India, will this just see more demand for oil and then a higher oil price?

But, Id have mine in black.

the problem is, India doesen;t have the roads to take all the extra cars that will be on the orads.... right now in india only rich families have cars (even bangers)

when I was in New delhi they only had 1 bridge going over the river that goes through the middle of the city... and that bridge was built by the british in the good old days of the empire !

Ahh but if they have a big uptake of these the government can then tax petrol as the big oil companies will be selling it from stations rather than people selling it on the sides of the streets, which I think they do that now.

So the government will have more money to build the infrastructure.

oh they have proper stations.... tho a LOT of the cars run on compressed natural gas :o  (a lot as in, most of them)

the thing is... a lot of the roads are just dirt roads, and zig zag about between buildings that have been there for 100 years etc...  (I get the impresion, people used to just build wherever they liked)

they do have a lot of good roads too... in the rich areas ;)
