Clock'd 0Ne:
You clearly like bigger cars, why so many Vauxhalls though? You don't seem to be singing the praises of them particularly. Sounds like you were really unlucky with the Boxter too!

Would love to see some photos of the CLS500.  8)

What's the performance/hybrid like on the X5 40e?

--- End quote ---

Vauxhalls as I didn't like fords, and I knew my way around them, servicing, cambelt changes etc. Went through quite a few in the first few years of driving when I couldn't really insure anything "good".

I do like a sporty coupe but when I slipped a disc in my back a few years back I couldn't even sit in one. Has improved greatly and I was looking at a 997 Turbo but got the Range Rover as the wife has an injury meaning she couldn't get in one, hopefully will have surgery to fix and then I can get my sports car (997 turbo or a v8 vantage).

I'll try to add some photos soon.

The x5 40e was good performance wise, economy was.. terrible 18mile electric only range (PHEV) and I was getting around 30mpg with my commute from memory which at the time was 100 miles a day mostly motorway, around town and short trips would have been much better I'm sure.

Serious:
Vauxalls are not too bad, then it is often a choice in business between them and Fords. Neither were that brilliant when I was actually allowed to drive.

Then we have the BL Allegro that remarkably had very little vroom and early Fiat that vanished into a pile of rust. Admittedly I sold the Fiat for more than it cost.

Clock'd 0Ne:
I drove an Insignia once as a rental and it was fabulous, but I also understand that that is the top end of their range and probably not representative of living with a lesser model Vauxhall day to day.
