In fact, was there any sort of warranty with that when you bought it ? That pump going is a total balls

Removed the injector pump today.. bit of a pig. Just need to get a new one on and it "should" be running again.

not sure, but feels like it might be, more electronics than mechanical tho, which sucks since itd probably go forever without that

Too right. Just rolled over 400,000 miles on a ZX derv here - on original pump. On original everything except brakes and handbrake cable, and a few bushes and a suspension arm. Still does near 60mpg. Its been running on veg oil last 120,000 miles. Its used as a van.

Modern diesel is nowhere near as reliable as last gen. NOWHERE near. Electronics have made diesel unreliable.

Still think thats a balls that it failed with so few miles - they must be weak, or the fuel your local station is dishing out must be pure sh*te. My guess is this is why this particular type of VAG engined car is so easy bought - I do remember the pumps on these being a piece of sh*t on the older audis.

my gut said that if i unplugged the electronics it might have run but then some other electronics would probably have stopped it

Got a solution for you. Ive just bought one to put in the 924 (The audi engine was just too small...)

http://britishamericanengines.co.uk/gm_create_engines.asp

I went for the 330hp LS1 - Ill probably be looking at turbocharging it (x2)
