I have been looking

For a really cheap car that would be cheaper on insurance.

So I stick a search into ebay and find some cheap Cinqentos... But... Insurance is only £100 cheaper per year than what Im paying at the moment. So whats the MPG from a 900cc fiat?

Id imagine itd be 35mpg? and I think thats what Im getting at the moment... so not much point in changing. Is there a cheaper car? It wasnt the sporting model either.

cheap & high mpg = ax or 106 diesel.

Slow as sh*t, but around 60-70 mpg or more.

Yeah but, the sporting would be a little higher insurance and if the cheapest is only £100 less than what Im paying it just seems a little pointless...

I could see myself getting a 106 Diesel, but I find it difficult to believe they do 60-70mpg... I do both city and steady dual carrigeway driving.

you could do with a nice TD.

forget the nasp diesels as they have to be thrashed to get going, ruining the potential mpg. ive got a rover 115(same engine as 106), which is very economical if you can live with 0-60 eventually type speeds, but if you try and get it up to speed quickly the mpg isnt that great.

not much probably, just needs the exhaust refitting with new gaskets. other than that just wear and tear on the body.

Although I might save for a TDi Octavia...

For next year, will have my license for 3 years then and the insurance quotes are comming out as £617 at the moment for TPFT on those... So I think I will just keep using my motor for another year and then sell.
