all much of a tedious muchness with those engines, so go with the one with the most toys... you drive it from the inside not the outside.

I agree. They are just Fords at the end of the day, the Focus may look nicer, but if you dont need the room definitely get the Climate with all the toys. Air con isnt just for summer, its the best screen demister out there.

You dont really need Air Con in the UK.

Right I got the list completely wrong. lol

Just logged into my companies vpn now and got the right list.

Ford Fusion 1.6ltr Petrol - Zetec Climate
Ford Fusion 1.6ltr TDCi - Zetec Climate
Ford Focus 1.6ltr TDCi - Studio
Ford CMAX 1.6ltr - Studio 100

Focus base model comes with the heated wing mirrors and electric front windows, no air con or quikclear however.

Fusion comes with all the trimmings to be honest, just missing heated wing mirrors and a more sophisticated control for the aircon.

Metallic Paint is offered free on all models - I can possibly spend a certain amount on extras (something like 10% the cost of the car)

Looking closer... Appears the focus comes with a lot of equipment as standard that the fusion only comes with at the zetec climate level.

the full IPS (intelligent protection system), alarm, PATS, various other bits and pieces... dammit now im leaning towards the focus.

Plus a fusion raises eyebrows from mates for the wrong reasons :D (WTF IS THAT THING!) much prefer to have a somewhat nice looking car to not totally look out of place against their BMWs :D

To be fair, with the same engine and similar trimmings the focus is easily the better choice because a) its surprisingly spacious and b) looks a hell of a lot better than that fugly fusion

Its hearing stuff from current focus owners. They say go for the fusion as the base spec focus is boring.

Exactly, open the window and you will freeze to death quite effectively in summer...

And your fuel economy hits zero.

Im sold... Fusion it is, went to have a look at a few at a local ford garage. Seems rather nice to be honest inside, and ive seen worse cars outside. Just looks like a more manly fiesta.

I suppose youre right there. Focus still looks better IMO.

Aye true, but then I was sitting at the traffic lights in a mates car the other day.... EVERY car (including my mates one) was a focus. It must be the most common car out there.

The car in front isnt a toyota... its a bloody ford! :D

Go for a Focus! ...the Fusion looks like a 4x4 wannabe, only ever seem mums on the school run driving them tbh :P

I have no experience of driving a Fusion tbh but I would imagine the Focus would be a far nicer place to be at motorway speeds. :)

One of my grandparents has a fusion, and even though its fugly it has quite a high driving position and you feel as if youre in a bigger car than you really are.

The Fusion is a Fiesta in a hat, literally.  All you are getting is the extra space.  However it has a good ride, comfort and driving posistion and would make a good every day car, despite how ugly it is.

The Max is simply too big unless your planning on running a night club buisness or taxi firm.

The focus has allways been an excellent car with a good choice of engine range.  Its been one of the best all round cars I have driven.  Space is a bit more crampt than it should be.

Just make sure you go for a diesel engine, and I dont mean that because of economy.  They are just usually the best in the range.

Really its either Ford Fusion 1.6ltr TDCi - Zetec Climate or Ford Focus 1.6ltr TDCi - Studio.
