Title: Ice Install Question
Post by: soopahfly on February 11, 2008, 14:48:44 PM
Im installing ICE into my Mitsubishi Delica L400.

This is what Ive got to install.

Alpine CDA-9830 Headunit
Infinity Reference 6.5" Speakers - 4ohm, 60w RMS i think
Infinity Reference 6x9" Speakers - Possibly change, too deep for delica factory locations.
Magnat The Rock 600 4ch Amp
Vibe Active 10" sub
Autoleads Distribution block 1 4awg <2 2awg I think
Fused Distribution Block 1x8awg < 2 4awg I think - 60amp fuses.

The trucks standard speaker setup is
10cm Dash
6.5" Doors
6x9" Rear

Not sure what to do about the dash speakers as they point at my feet.

Im wanting to amp the front and rear speakers, and keep the sub secure but removable, as it is a people carrier/4x4/van all in one.
Im thinking the amp is going to have to go between the front two seats, it fits but hardly out of sight. Its the only bit of the car that doesnt have something that can move into its space.

Hows best to set this little lot up?

Thanks in advance

Have you sorted the smoking prob out yet? Id be inclined to do that first or you wont have anything to put ice into !

Yeah, only a temporary fix at the moment, pulled the vacuum hose off the egr and put a screw in it.
Sorted.

So now I need to whip off the EGR valve and clean it properly so it works as Mitsi intended.

Ive not had to buy anything for this install, its all what ive been donated/ripped from previous cars.

amp between the seats is a bit sucky..... going by the showroom thread photos.... what about inside the glove box and up a bit ?  so its above all the junk in there ?

(my brother used to have this setup in his van.... with a 6kw amp :o

as for speaker postions.... stick them in the old holes if you can, or wherever they fit best... unless youre really big into your sound quality etc... you want a van with a radio in it, not a sound system with a van to go with it :p

also... make/buy a box for the amp to go into, and fix it to the roof in the back, not sure how to make it detachable tho (and still look ok).... (this is apparently the best position for them anyway)

you could mount the amp hanging under the passenger seat - a common fix.
