insurance question
on: January 25, 2008, 21:17:27 PM
Hi people

Ive had an insurance policy for about 10 months now, so its coming to an end. Ive decided I dont need a car at the moment so Im selling it (to my mum as it happens). Now ideally I would like to let the insurance policy I have run to the end so I can get the years no claims, but am I allowed to do this if Ive transferred ownership of the car? Or am I obliged to tell the insurance company and cancel the policy? Its no big deal either way - but I dont want to not tell the insurance company if that would be dodgy.

Cheers
Joe

theres no reason you cant stay insured on the car... phone up the isurance policy and tell you them that you are still going to be using the car but will no-longer be the registered keeper.

hmm ok.. thanks! would that even mean my premium might be less and I could get a refund? The new place the car will be staying will be in a cheaper area than where it is currently?

just let the insurance premium run its course. any refund would be utterly negligible. I wouldnt tell them anything.
