lawnmover overhaul time!

Did the first mow of the season yesterday, despite the cold, as the lawn has gotten shaggy. Of course it was time for the spring ritual:

change oil, I like Castrol "for heavy duty and diesel"
bang out or replace air filter
sharpen blade with grinder
clean/replace plug
assess silencer and wheels, replace if shot
fresh fuel

Oh my, took an hour, which included riding down to the hardware store for two new replacement wheels. :P

Do this yearly and your cheap mower will last an eternity.

That is all. :D

Did mine yesterday.
Ready for the first mow of the spring.

Removed blade and sharpend on grinder (razor sharp baby)
cleaned all of the old dry grass etc from it.
WD40 everything.

Well if you refuse to pay the ransom lawn will never release shaggy and then what will Velma and Scooby-doo doo?

And perhap you could have delayed the spring ritual, the neighbours are complaining about your nekkid bum doing things in the long grass...

:D

I did mine, pulled out one piece of grass and that was it. OK I havent got a lawn, so what?

The grass in Florida never stops growing, so we have to mow all year.  It slows down during the winter months, but that just means that I only mow it once every two weeks instead of every 4 days.  I do need to sharpen up my blades though.  Maybe I will do that this weekend.
