Lowered my car on Coilovers
on: August 02, 2006, 12:42:29 PM
Recently got some Weitec Coilovers on my ST.  The handling was already great, but now it is superb! It is very low, but have not had one problem over speed bumps or pot holes etc (my road is pot hole city)!

Sorry about the dirty car!

Do you find that youve restricted your turning circle now ?

No everything is still the same, except tons better handling.

For the plate, I was trying to get the stripes to run through the plate if you get me, but doesnt really work too well.

Are you getting coilovers? Or just springs?

I thought of getting a strut brace.....but would you really notice the difference?

Just springs - ill add aftermarket dampers if I need to

but everyone whos experimented with this sort of thing has said that theres not much point on ~£500 worth of coilovers, you wont notice much difference over the springs.

I am getting fron and rear strut-bracing just to stiffen the car up and make things a little tighter. Wont make a massive difference, but they arent expensive... so I might as well :)

after that I may have a looksie at stiffer ARBs.. depends how well it corners really.

no reply yet :( have nearly bought some new mats though, with big TSport badges on them, they look very cool :D

impulsive of me, but they were reduced down to £25 from £50 :)

Look good! I paid £60 for my mats......and dont look as good as that

Some people on the ST forum have gone from standrard springs --> Eibach Springs (for example) --> then coilvers and said they do make a big difference from uprated springs to coilovers. Could just be our car though, other cars will take things differently. So I just thought Id take the big leap to coilovers.

Cheers Ni :)

No one will be able to tell without before and afters.....but I dont have close up befores, but ive had all the grills and fog light surrounds painted black as well instead of the grey which originally comes with it....and that looks tons better as well.
