I assume most will be worse off else they wouldnt change it.

your car has emissions of 166 g/km btw brummie.

i would imagine that these new tax rules will only apply to new cars anyway?

rofl i dont know if you realise but your tax will go down :p

currently £175 per year
new rules: 166g/km = £150 per year. + £10 for being diesel.

It says nothing AFAIK about it being new cars only, if it was then the road tax system would be incredibly and needlessly complex.

not really, look at the dvla link i posted that is how it works.
basicly
pre 2001 cars stay the same (2 groups, above 1550cc and below)

after 2001 cars go into this new system

yeah since the 2001 budget, it is funny that they are calling all this new car tax rules when all they have really done is add another band (G) to the rules from 2001.

same old (more expensive one) one for me tho

which is nice because it would go up otherwise :o

thing is... its all measured by emissions, so many particles per million.... how long before they start hooking up fans blowing down the exhaust diluting the co2 ;)

My C2 tech specs says CO2 emissions is 151, right on the border line of C and D :)  Ah well.

Im thinking that the French compressed air powered city car may be very popular amongst computers if they manage to get enough production going and keep the price sweet. No road tax or fuel tax?

Actually Im thinking of one for myself :)
