Yep, not much better than buying an MX-5 tbh which is why I never bought one. The Z4 is a different story though, but way out of budget.

it depends on if it is the 16v 1.9 thats not too bad, but I wouldnt be put off by the 8v either if the right one comes along, they are cruising around with the roof down cars not crazy sideways animals.

Z3 either 2.8/3.0 or otherwise its just an overpriced MX5.

alot nicer place to sit than an mx5, i'm sure of that.

Not that I'm saying to get an Z3 though.

I would be looking at an MG TF or maybe something classic like and old Triumph Stag or TR

I know its not exactly what you are after but you will struggle to find a more fun car for the money, these are quick and handle like they are on rails.

I know the guy selling it of the MG forum and it has had a very pampered life.

My wife has a 2.0L Hyundai Coupe, it's a lot more fun than my Skoda and surprisingly easy to work on for a "sports" car, but I suspect you can have more fun for the same money. Also the 2.0 coupes are FWD if that bothers you.

It's a nice car, but if all out speed is what you want it's probably not your best option.
