Would you buy one of these?
on: May 31, 2008, 20:28:05 PM
To save on mainly fuel costs and the annoyance of parking I want to get something like a Honda CG 125. I did my CBT on one about a month and a half back.

I was looking and there are cheap Chinese alternatives like this:

Im just thinking... to save on the insurance cost, surely these are cheaper to insure than a Honda? then itd be a good idea?

Although I am dubious its from China...

What does everyone think?

Or does anyone know of a cheap CG125?

Would you buy one of these?

Insurance for me on a CG125 fully comp is like £400. I have no driving experience.

Just buy a CG, theyve been around since the year . and the engines are hewn from granite. You should pick one up sub 500...

Yeah, that kinda money - even if it breaks its disposable. Id get a bike tomorrow if I could get one thatd take a few servers in the boot.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Ive seen a few CGs go for £300 - £500 but they are oldish, with lots of miles. I want something thats new, I rarely get new things and they are pretty similar to honda CGs so I could imagine if anything did break itd be easy to learn to repair as its similar to a Honda

i would say go for it, it has a 12month warranty so thats at least a year of peace of mind, after that for £500 you dont care to much, probably be able to sell it for £3-400 after a year. Very cheap motoring

Although that one is in Berkshire, quite far indeed! Although I could go down and see my bosses etc at the same time at their office.

Although there is a CG125 near Newcastle... ends tomorrow and the guy hjas put a poor description on, but doesnt have MOT or TAX. so sounds a bit dodgy, might go and see it if I can.

Guy I used to work with did his CBT and then brought one of these Sukida or one of the other chinese rip off buys for dirt cheap and was very happy with it as a starting bike.

As they are dirt cheap just get one to get your bearing on a motorbike, once you get bored of it you can look into getting something bigger and better
