power steering issue
on: December 27, 2007, 08:22:27 AM
seeing as everyone is asking peoples opinions, i think ill jump in

my power steering is dodgy, sometimes at low speeds (manoeuvring into my drive or parallel parking) the steering wheel will just lock, not just become heavy itll stop completely for a split second. Now its not really caused me any trouble but its kinda annoying

Whats it likely to be?
btw its hydraulic power steering in 206s

Well these are the first things you should be looking at; my power steering went dodgy intermittantly, the problem was low fluid, as I have a small leak somewhere.

I happen to have an inexhaustable supply of fluid though, so Im not overly worried about fixing it in case its the pump and requires a lot of work lol.

Go check your fluid.
