Hopefully by this time next week ill be driving around in an Audi A4 TDI Quattro.

Its alot older and ALOT higher miles than the MG but a millions times better quality and built. Its been meticulously maintained aswell.

not yet, only told the bloke id have it today. Doing a exchange.

feel like ive been had abit but its such a nicer car.

99 A4 1.9TDI 110ps Quattro with 100k miles fsh + £500 for my 05 MG ZS+ TDi 115ps with 37k.

ive not seen the light completly, but have been very disapointed by the build quality of newest Mgs and rovers, the factory workers obviously knew that the end was Ni and didnt bother using any screws or bolts when putting them together.

Never encountered any problems like that with my car yet, but I guess there is still plenty of time...

nah it seems its just that cars towards the end of rover/mg that suffer serious quality issues.

test drove a high milage (115k) 2002 R45 TD today aswell, and considering it defo hadnt been looked after at all it was still doing very well.

Out of interest, how did it compare to the ZS?

Often wondered how different the two were, since I plumbed for the cheaper, easier to find 45 over the ZS.

on the 45 its much quieter, less road noise, engine note sounds deeper in the cabin (due to more sound proofing i guess) the dash is better quality and ride is much comfier.
driving wise they are like 2 different cars, the ZS is almost pure sporty and horrible to drive on the road imo(pretty much why ive never got on with it) while the 45s ride is very nice indeed.

ive never driven a mk1 zs or mk2 45 though so dont know how they compare to my mk2 zs. the dash is very cheap looking on all mk2s and alot of sound proofing was deleted due to cost.

Previously they put them in but they were so incompetent at doing it the things fell back out again before the car left the factory. This was useful in that they could sweep them back up again and put them into the next batch ;)
