Seems that since he wasn't a Brit there's no mention of this a week later from http://www.tekforums.net/sports-hobbies-cycling/rip-dan-wheldon/

(I apologise in advance if I missed the thread)

Sadly he passed after a horrific crash in the MotoGP bike race early Sunday morning (our time)

He really was just coming into his own.. such a waste :(

It was awful to watch.

I wont be suprised if Rossi retires now.

It's such a shame, such a terrible accident :/

You could see he was having trouble with grip a couple of turns earlier but what happened is just completely bonkers :/
