Yes but not all drivers are as uneducated, and yes the tyres are wide but then most sports cars tyres are pretty damn wide to.

true - Im modding my rear arches to take wheels on 275-295 wide rubber. Fronts will remain 225s

Tyres for extreme winter driving ar not wide at all

Yes many 4x4 drivers they such good grip but if it starts to skid it has no better grip than any other car but is very different to steer out of than with 2 wheel drive rear or front. One needs to practice a lot to be able to handle a 4x4
in such situations.
