Remember to keep an eye on the mirror just in case some other forum member decides to give you one up the exhaust pipe again ;)

Aww aint they cute :D ^^^ my babys
Its been well looked after but will get a new cambelt and full service as all my cars do, theres no smoke so the turbo is still good :D

Looks nice and clean for an M
-
Prefer the turbo wheels.
-
Looks very clean, good find.
i prefer the old ones alloys too, and its ride height. have all the 4x4 badges been taken off the new one.
-
I like calibras, and they were on my short list before I got the astra.
There were a few things stopping me, weight being one of them.
I think I would prefer a Let Tigra, although slightly girly looking.
-
the turbo badge and both 4x4 badges were removed yeah, the ride height has pros and cons but i will probably drop the new one eventually.
-
meh they do weigh a lot but its plenty quick enuff
-
you still got the old (written off) one ?
deffo need to swap the wheels for some better less chav ones ;)
looking good tho :)
-
yeah the old one is still gracing me with its presence.. will sort it out the weekend lol up the drive way then back down a shell of its former self.
-
smoke from the exhaust is only one symptom of a turbo going bad - but yet its the only one people seem to check for - you can have a turbo on the verge of failure with no obvious smoke.
I would be more concerned about oil leaks, obvious repair, rub marks, split hoses, odd noises and tuning devices like bleed valves, and of course the big one, fluctuating boost - but not everyone is like me and brings a boost guage when viewing mint cars - the look on the owners faces normally tells the tale!
-
tbh yeah smoke pouring out is just 1 sign, could be a weak actuator, worn wategate, low oil pressure so on the verge of siezing etc..
I had a good look around the engine bay, its unmolested, it pulled like it should and when i discussed the car with the owner it was obvious he had taken a massive interest in the car and was looking after it well, not to mention hes an engineer so understands this sort of thing.
Theres no boost gauge on it so it may not be boosting as it should but it drove well and was plenty quick enuff.
Im happy and TBH thats all that matters.

get some smoked side repeaters for it sharpish ;)
other than that it does look minty fresh
