I knew after 26 yrs of driving on the stupid road, the bastards will get me one day, it used to be 70 through  there, its now 30, but its not built up at all, a few very nice detached houses.

Also the Police assume you know the amount to pay, actually I dont, what is it please ?

snap! got my NIP in my drawer still lol.

Send off the NIP with the correct details etc all filled in, and they will send you an offer of a fixed penalty for you to pay.

Will be a £60 fine and 3points.

I just got back from a month in France and I got one today too!

But ... i am going to dispute it as i was caught doing 59mph in a 60mph zone. They seem to think that my VW Transporter is classed as a commercial van despite it stating PLG on the V5 document. Commercial vans have to do -10mph of the offical speed limits apparently but my van is for private use and has a rear window.

I knew they changed it, but 36 in a 30 is hardly speeding is it .

True, but speedos under read by nature, chances are you where doing an indicated 40 or so.

Our subbie has a problem with this atm - apparently there is no legal definition of a commercial vehicle that stands up - his Astra van has rear windows but blanked sides, and no seats in the back. His legal advice has been that although strictly a commercial vehicle, because based on a car bodyshell he may get away with it. If you had seats in the back you could be surer...

I thought speedos couldnt legally read under?
"Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some f**king regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some f**king Jane f**king Austen novel!"

They cant, but in this case its reading over.  He got done at an actual 36, which means his speedo more than likely said he was doing around 40.

You knowingly broke the law, you got caught.  Pay the fine and take it on the chin, dont piss and bitch.  Its a fair cop, as they say.
