Its seizing up apparently, I have to roll the car to get it started when it wont go, battery and alternator seem fine.

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

My Haidatsu starters been wierd going on a year. Likely bad brushes, as its got 100K of mainly short city driving. :lol: Totally random. Turn click, turn click, turn clickik, turn chuffa chuffa click, turn vroom. :lol:

Well that was the other thing suggested by my stepdad, but how can you tell the difference?

Ah, mine IS likely the solenoid come to think of it, as it starts fine when jumped. guess its time to put that front end on stands and give it a poke! :D

Its worse when cold or wet.

Youre more likely to hear clicking instead of starting.
If your motor is gone/going, its likely to get lazy also - turning over erratically

Ive done three starts from cold today and its been fine. I think Ive been lucky, but the fact that it could be either of these things is now causing me concern. I really dont fancy replacing one to find the problem is with the other :(

nige the solenoid is built onto the side of the started in with the bendex (spl?)... so you got to replace the whole lot anyway :)

Most usually are. Still replaceable though! Maybe not best for a first go at it though
