So on Friday here in Norfolk, we had quite an epic storm, mega rain causing most roads to have an inch of water on them for a little while, and quite a bit of lightning.
On Saturday morning the other half had arranged to go for a walk with some work colleagues. There were multiple cars involved in the logistics, but essentially we had 3 cars break down (mine included). We got to the drop off point without issue, but then my battery was completely dead when I went to go home.
Just curious if anyone knows of anything that could explain how 3 cars (out of 4) could all have dead batteries/starter troubles on the same day. The only common factor being the weather the previous day!
(My car battery was 10 years old so it was due to go anyway, just odd two other cars went too!)

but... batteries normally only last ~4 years... so at 10years you've done well, but it's well overdue for a new one too!

Many starts and stops of the motors ?

Maybe there was that much rain that the water got under the bonnet/condensed there and was causing shorting?

Lol my battery was dead on Saturday morning as well.
Made me nearly miss a friends wedding.
I put it down too it being the first quite cold night we've had that killed the battery as it was quite old.

Old batteries often suffer badly when going into winter. There is a spike in failures as those which were fatigued but fine during the summer fail due to the cold.
