20 pounds is pretty decent for a steel bike!  My aluminum bike weighs right around 17 pounds, but I could easily knock another pound or so off of it if I changed out my handlebars, seatpost, and wheels.  I am not too concerned with the weight though since I figure I can make a bigger performance improvement by staying in shape than I can by spending a bunch of money to start shaving a few ounces of weight off the bike.

/me imagines being chased down the street, having prepared myself with a gas-powered fully automatic MP5K BB gun slung over the shoulder ready for the no-good knee-cap biting canines, by a platoon of policemen in fluorescent jam sandwiches (with flashing blue lights ;)) :D

Our new parent company H&S training encompasses such sections as "Canine Awareness" - did you know that apparently 30 people die worldwide every year from being bitten by dogs....

lol... Id have taken around a supersoaker if it was small and handy. BB pistol is the easiest. :)

Non-toxic paintgun might be good too :) The things you can pick up for £10 from a market.

Yeah, 20s right around where I stop bothering. Again, I could easily drop down to 16-17 with a swap of parts, as this steel frame is lighter than most aluminum frames, but why bother?

Some ultralight 25mm tires and light tubes might be worth the hassle, but only if I get them on sale--easily another 700g.
