Turbo --> Supercharger

(1/3) > >>

Poison_UK:
Quick idea. Would it be possible to pull the turbo out of a 1.6 205 GTi engine and place in a Dyno Supercharger? Main reason is to try and get rid of any lag the turbo has and keep a constant flow rather than having to rebuild up momentum in the turbo.

Any idea on the kind of work that would be needed for it to be pulled off?

Edd:
erm the 205 gti doesnt have a turbo

you know you can get a 1.6 gti turbo.

Pete:
Im sure itd be possible, but Id bet itd cost a fair whack too.

Youd need to find a suitable sc & then probably get custom manifolds to fit it & then work out a way of hooking it up to the crank with the right pulley ratio and then get it tuned.

/I know theres a few tricks for reducing lag (like fitting a smaller turbo) but I dont know the details, it may be worth googling a bit - also theres probably the Pug equivilant of Vmax lurking somewhere.

Edd:
sure u can get a GTi TT conversion, but theyre rare as rocking horse sh*t
