My bad, its a conversion option.

They now use Buick engines up to 3.8 litre.

Diahatsu.

Paid £500 for this last year. Bit tatty but had a years MOT, tax and runs nicely. 3.5 V8 EFi so is a bit thirsty, but will be much cheaper to buy than a Defender and if theyre looked after will go on for ever.

Mine also has working A/C, PAS, Elec windows etc. Huge fun to drive and comfortable, whilst being excellent on the rough stuff.

Toyota Hilux, the one they tried to detroy on Top Gear. Although not that one particullary but they are cheapish to run, good 4WD cars. Get a towbar on one and you could tow lots of things too :D

Optional Extras?

Bit muddy...

Its the english MOT, any old sh*te will pass there - dangerous is how I would describe it based on my experience of cars bought over there.

The state of the cars over there can be bad - some of the stuff i saw on the road to vegas was shocking! But some of the cars that I have bought from over the water have been downright dangerous, with a years MOT

We have centralised testing here, at a limited number of national test centres, where the people doing the test can perform NO work on the car - theyre there to test it, not to try and invent faults to charge you for.

The downside is the wait and depth of test involved - but it is safer.

Both of those are perfect examples of what Id heartily endorse myself. Chuck Norris would approve.

Yes and no Jamiz.

If they are fitted and not covered, they have to work.
Cover them and they are fine.

Mate of mine who made a lot of money off selling land runs a U5000 on the road - classed as an agricultural vehicle somehow, and runs it on red diesel !
