With all of these remakes people are naturally going to over intellectualise it and look back with rose tinted glasses, elevating otherwise trashy pieces of TV and cinema to a lofty height that they were never really worthy of.
You take that back. The A-Team was a masterpiece.
Fun? Yes! Masterpiece? No. To use another recent remake as an example, I think the original Transformers was a masterpiece. However if I remove the rose tinted Oakleys it actually wasnt in any way, shape or form, it was a cartoon that was rather dodgy in places that was designed to advertise and sell toys. When you examine the original in an unbiased way then remakes, with all of their awful acting, pointless explosions and thin plots suddenly seem much more credible.
