I saw the trailer again in the cinema the other day and still hold by my viewpoints. In fact Id go so faras to say the guy playing B.A was starting to look moderately retarded in some scenes. He is never going to be B.A.

With all of these remakes people are naturally going to over intellectualise it and look back with rose tinted glasses, elevating otherwise trashy pieces of TV and cinema to a lofty height that they were never really worthy of.

You take that back.  The A-Team was a masterpiece.

Fun? Yes! Masterpiece? No. To use another recent remake as an example, I think the original Transformers was a masterpiece. However if I remove the rose tinted Oakleys it actually wasnt in any way, shape or form, it was a cartoon that was rather dodgy in places that was designed to advertise and sell toys. When you examine the original in an unbiased way then remakes, with all of their awful acting, pointless explosions and thin plots suddenly seem much more credible.

The aTeam had the fantastically talented George Peppard.

I cannot believe youve compared the A-Team to Transformers. Transformers was as you say a fun cartoon. The A Team is absolutely legendary and as Sam has pointed out with GP, had an immensley talented cast. Dwight Schultz was amazing - watch the episode where Murdoch does his James Bond thing its absolute genius!
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

He wasnt bad but the scripts were poor kiddie tripe. Against the rest of the stuff around at the time it was good but there has been much better.
