New Rig Time.
on: June 24, 2010, 19:25:19 PM
I am sick of my current computer it is way to noisey and looks like a chavd up corsa with all the leds and neons etc. looking through my ebuyer history it was built around Feb08.

Time to grow up abit i think.

Im after somthing pretty powerfull, enough to bootup fast and browse the web without and slow down and play the odd game everynow and again (Civ4/5, Football Manager, Command and Conquer type games)

I like the idea of solid state HDD just for the OS and programs, and keep a bit old skool hdd for movies videos etc.

Looks smart, maybe aluminium, no bl00 or green neons or windows this time I dont think.

Quiet is the main thing, I barely want to know it is switched on tbh.

I like a good overclocker (my current cpu is excellent) but if it is at the expense of silence then forget it.

Anyone got any sugestions for spec, case, cooling, hdds? anything from my old rig useable?

keep price sensible.

Cheers :)

The Antec range of cases is good across the board, if you dont mind a larger case the P183 is very nice and its chambered and well built for quietness, but it is expensive.

Seeing you want to keep price to a sensible level I would be tempted to hold fire 6 months or so with the current prices of SSD’s, ones with decent capacity are still very expensive IMO
