how do you log on as a administrator
thanks.
1.Ensure that you are logged in to Windows as an administrator on the machine which you would like to install Steam on

i have to do this for Steam.

You dont have to be on as an administrator for Steam. Right click the steam installer and select run as Administrator. It will then ask for the Admin password and there you go (if you are the admin account you will get a box asking you to confirm the install). Although I never got asked to install steam under the admin account on my vista machine and it runs fine :)
