Thats the point, why buy an expensive HD player when the old DVD does adequately for most people, same as Hi-Fi.
Always here this from people who never sit down and try, heard the same with tape to dvd and tape to cd music and cd to mp3
But if you dont have a HDTV then there isnt any reason at all to buy a HD player. Old TVs cant display the resolution, so unless you want to pick upa new TV at the same time its just not worth it. Also you have to think that to take full advantage of the players youll pretty much have to replace your entire DVD collection. Now I dont have all that many films, but it would still cost the neck-end of £2k for me to replace them all in BluRay format, and thats only if they are actually available in BluRay.
