Title: Best album in the world. Ever
Post by: Quixoticish on March 19, 2006, 11:19:08 AM
Alas! The majestic Bal-Sagoth have unleashed their sixth opus on humanity! After a six year wait I can honestly say it is by far their greatest epic, bombastic battle metal at its finest.

1: The Sixth Adulation Of His Chthonic Majesty
2: Invocations Beyond The Outer-World Night
3: Six Score And Ten Oblations To A Malefic Avatar
4: The Obsidian Crown Unbound
5: The Fallen Kingdoms Of The Abyssal Plain
6: Shackled To The Trilithon Of Kutulu
7: The Hammer Of The Emperor
8: Unfettering The Hoary Sentinels Of Karnak
9: To Storm The Cyclopean Gates Of Byzantium
10: Arcana Antediluvia
11: Beneath The Crimson Vaults Of Cydonia
12: Return To Hatheg-Kla

Highlights include Arcana Antediluvia and The Obsidian Crown Unbound, (reaching hights of grandeur not seen since Starfire Burning Upon the Ice Veiled Throne of Ultima-Thule and The Splendour of a Thousand Swords Gleaming Beneath The Blazon Of The Hyperborean Empire Part II but this is really an album that deserves to be played from start to finish.

All hail Bal-Sagoth, barbarian metal kings! I dont think this one will be leaving my play list for a very long time.

Right, the best album in the world is a geeky metal number or a sad whiny goth record. Ugh.

These are examples of fine albums, pay atttention:

/me shakes finger at Max. Far from being a whiny goth record, Disintegration is a musical masterpiece, with subtle, interplaying layers and beautiful melodies, a truly exceptional piece of composition. In addition it has some wonderfully heartfelt lyrics and one of the finest love songs ever written (Lovesong). Now Faith... thats a whiny goth record :)

Its the best the Cure ever did, the least clubby and most accessible, but it doesnt crack my personal top 100.

Id rather listen to Bleedin Gums Murphy, tbh.

I saw ABC live a few years back. They were good, but not as good as the Human League who were also on the bill (as well as Culture Club).

Culture Club is excellent. I saw them a few years ago and they didnt sound dated at all, just like an excellent English-soul band.

The "best album ever" was purely an emotional euphamism I chose to express the joy Im finding in listening to said album.

But you know what they say about opinions and arseholes.
