Dam it, they lied to me. I will need an ADSL2+ modem. Ive got the free bulldog modem and the Dlink DI624+ router. I dont think either of these are ADSL2+ grrrrrr.

ADSL2+ is gradually spreading across the country, mostly its due to local loop unbundling and companies getting access to the exchanges to put their equipment in. TBH its going to take time as all of the exchanges will have to be upgraded.

Further down the line there will hopefully be fibre access at which point the distance from the exchange wont matter
