yup its for real... and people will fall for it too :(

Take some incompatible hardware with no driver support, install a flaky visualisation of OSX stolen from the open source community, call it a G6 whereas apple can only manage a G5 and then set the price low enough that people get excited.

Basically osx wont run in any meaningful way yet so youd just have to delete it and install windows/linux anyway.  Not having the apple graphics co processors on the motherboard, a total lack of driver support for hardware and the fact most universal binaries arent going to be able to cope with a non core duo processor seems like a bit of an issue to me...

i dont know about that, ive seen it installed on an intel lappy and it was rapid, i just think the advert is a con though and youre right, while some installs will work AND fly, there is no support for it at all and in some situations it could be a pig to get to work...

I have read many articles on OSX being cracked. AFAIK you can but a copy from Apple and DIY by following the instructions.

For Apple it would probably be worthwhile to sell them the software too but having checked up on the site I dont think I will bother buying one  :D

i used Grub to put Ubuntu backing OSX and Windows XP on the laptop.  Works ok, but not brilliantly.

Tempted to have a go at installing the patched OSX on this computer in a triple boot config :) may get a bit hairy though :D
