The stock Intel/AMD coolers work very adequately except the mounts quite often break eventually. The CPUs are protected so even that shouldnt be too much of an issue. Just dont take it off very often.

Modern multi-core CPUS are much faster than their rated Ghz might suggest so you might find you have silly computing power. Ive not had any difficulties playing games on older cards, providing theres drivers available they just work.

Only other issue Ive run into recently is the sound chip on some modern motheroboards. The playback is fine but using a mic can be a bit hit or miss. If you want to use something like skype then it might be simpler to buy an external USB headset or microphone.

All built and running  :nana: MUCH quicker than my old setup, just have to learn windows 7 now. And redo all my bookmarks, load software etc.

BTW, whats the differance between the 32 bit and 64 bit version of windows 7?

not a lot, 64 bit is a smidgen faster, but you cant really notice it......

but you do need 64bit installed to run any 64 bit programs so its worth it, 64bit win rar is quite a bit faster than 32bit.... same goes for dvd ripping programs etc...

1 handy Win 7 prog you dont see mentioned much is the Win 7 malware scanner , it is a bit hidden ,
you can get to it by clicking start & then typing run , click on the Run program item & then type MRT.

Reality is there might be slightly more driver issues with older equipment and 64 bit, some manufacturers wrote 32 bit drivers and softwear but didnt produce 64 bit versions of the same.

Other than the ability to address extra memory above 3.something GB and a slight and usually unnoticeable speed boost there isnt much difference at all. Eventually I would expect M$ to switch entirely to 64 bit, possibly in the next incarnation of Windaz.
