Actually, I dont care for giant space battles :P I started watching it out of interest, but quickly found interest in the sub-plots with the characters and how they deal with life in a migrant fleet fleeing from the enemy much more interesting.

BSG has never been about the giant space battles, in fact if you examine the past three and half seasons there have been remarkably few. There are plenty of other shows about if you want brainless action, BSG has always been about the charachters and the human condition.

Aye. I will admit that to start with I remembered some people saying how awesome the space scenes were, but when I watched the series through I was left wondering what they were meaning, as they were non existent. Sure the scenes of ships are pretty cool, and the design is refreshing when compared to things like starwars. Im not complaining though, as I think if they had to take anything out to add more space scenes BSG would have been worse off!

Sci Fi for me is something that can easily be done wrong.  Ive never had an interest in things like Andromeda, Firefly or Babylon 5, Every crime in the book from boring characters, to cheesy stories, cheesy ideas, right down to having no direction at all which series like Heroes are being criticised for.

BSG for me has been a dark, dritty, political and sexy (not in the litteral term) program.  Its worth watching from the start.  It changes pace often and you wonder where it is going, but it allways finds direction, right now its just gotten interesting again, it was one of those episodes I like to think that rewrites the way things are and sets the scene for something to come. Your not thrilled by it but your left intrigued.

It makes you think someone is something for the first 35 minutes and bang right at the end slaps you with the real truth or revelation.

Is that referring to the first ep of the second half of the last season? :gag: (Dont tell me, Im watching it tonight!)

I dont get the criticism shows get for lack of direction. Life doesnt have a direction, why should the shows?

i take back what i said, the last couple of episodes have been really good. i didnt particularly like the episode centering around religion and politics tho

one of the episodes i enjoyed the most was at the beginning, when the water storage area was bombed. they showed daily fleet routines and stuff which i really enjoyed and wished there was more of that sorta stuff

Just watched the latest episode, it really was nail biting stuff. Actually Id rate it as one of the best episodes the show has seen thus far, alongside 33, Crossroads and Unfinished Business.
