more resolutions ?
on: April 24, 2006, 00:12:39 AM
my tft runs perfect at 1280x1024 (19 inch Sony)

but i like to sit back from my screen, so everything is a bit small....

so Id go for a smaller resolution... but they always distort things :(

dont like changing font sizes etc... always looks so messed up :(

1280x1024 is a ratio or 1.25 to 1
all the other settings i have run at 1.33 to 1

and Im guessing thats the problem ?

is there anything I can do to get more options ?

I know it sounds like a dumb question, and Im pretty sure its a gfx card thing (shuttle onbord).... but I had an old pc years ago that had about a hundred different resolutions to choose from :o

Problem is usually becauseof how the TFT screen is constructed, if you reduce the resolution then it might cause problems because you are no longer using 1 pixel on screen to represent each actual pixel.

Right click on screen, choose settings/advanced/general and change the dpi settings see if that helps.

thing is, i HATE changing the dip setting, screws everything up, its not in preportion ! Id rather die tbh
(its just one of those things...)

i know what you mean, but i think a nother resolution at 1 to 1.25 would be ok.... others just look stretched in once direction... appart from that quality is fine :)

short of halfing the res itll always look crap tbh.
lcds dont look nearly as sharp if your not matching up the pixels 1:1 or 1:2.

I have a 19" and usually have 1280x1024 but find 1152x864 acceptable.
