Virtuality mini review

Another gem from saviour of modern sci-fi Ron D Moore. Its not another BSG which in some ways it was being marketed as, and sadly Fox arent likely to pick up the pilot and turn it into an episode which is bitter sweet as the pilot really does leave you wanting more.

All in all it has the potential to be a genuinely excellent show, some great acting, good direction, and interesting ideas all interwoven in a great setting with some fantastic cinematography.

I wont spoil the plot or premise other than to say it explores a lot of themes that we saw hinted at in BSG and that Ron Moore expanded further for Caprica; the relationship between humans and technology and the nature of the human condition (the latter being something that all good sci-fi concentrates on).

There are no big space battles, no fights, no aliens, this is about people. Id hazard a guess and say if you watched BSG for the fights and war youll hate this. If you watched BSG to watch the charachters grow and evolve this will be your cup of tea.

A solid 4/5 with so much potential.

Just watched it, thought it was great at points, dire at others.

I felt that it didnt have a direction, however I could see it continuing - not felt so ambivilous towards a show for a while.
