HTCP on LCD TV display problems?

E8400
ASUS P5E-VM HDMI
4GB CORSAIR XMS 6400
SAPPHIRE HD3870 ULTIMATE EDITION
ANTEC FUSION 430
SYTHE MINI NINJA
PIONEER S02 BLUERAY DRIVE
WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32 OEM
SHARP LC46X20E LCD TV

Anybody know of any display issues with this motherboard/gfx card/tv? i can sometime get the display to work but most of the time after being shutdown the display wont come back on.

The computer is booting fine into windows as the VFD display on the case shows system specs/temps etc and this only works when windows has booted to desktop.

I have conflicting stories of it being the tv not recognising that the pc is not connected and it needs a firmware upgrade (EDID) but i have also heard that its to do with the DVI out on the gfx card not sending the signel to the tv.

I have tried the computer on a pc monitor with a vga cable but still no picture and i cant try the onboard gfx over vga as its disabled in bios.

Also PowerDVD 7 doesnt recognise the onboard Intel X3500 gfx as capable of playing blueray so that wont work.

Im not really sure what else to try.

Ive got a Sapphire 3850, Im using it now with my 1080P HD television and it works just fine. Might not have a high enough signal to trigger the TV or something. Have a look through the TV settings.

The only issue I have is Sapphire provided a HD audio driver, which is presently disabled as I cant hear games through the headphones socket on the front with it. The motheboard has its own HD audio driver.

Ill carry on digging, maybe give Sapphire and Sharp a call.

i guess re setting cmos will give me the onboard video back if i remove the 3870 and ill just use the onboard until i find out the cause of the problem.

Can anyone suggest Blueray playback software compatable with the Intel X3500 graphics? PowerDVD 7 only recognises ATI and Nvidia cards :/

Ive splashed out and bought PowerDVD 8 Ultra which supports the G35 intel gfx so at least i can watch blazing Saddles on Blue Ray tonight now :D

Gaming will have to wait.
