Its not that deep. Im trying to think what film knee high water would be in but failing. Closest I can think of is a few scenes from that horror film set on a cruise ship over a deep sea trench with the weird deep sea monster attacking everyone.

Sharks often attack people in very shallow water, usually mistaking them for seals.

Umm what was this thread about again? I think Ive forgotten something.

I think youre right about this, 20 minute installments is enough. I went through about 5 doors into a new section and it took long enough creeping about and stopping every time something weird happened. :0hnoes:

I just screamed out loud. Well, not so much scream as a "Auryghhhhhhh!"...Ive been playing cat and mouse with the monster for a few hours now, managed to hide so far, been caught out twice nearly in areas that were well lit where Ive been crouched behind a low wall and could hear it on the other side, but thankfully avoided being spotted. The reviews are right, it makes it all the more freaky the fact you cant look, you really do end up in the position the victims in horror films find themselves in...waiting in a cupboard or behind a door..."Is it gone yet?" and peek out...

But yeah, the yelling...in the sewers, I distracted a monster enough to slip past...got to a door...opened it and there was a "rhwhaahhhhhhh" noise..."sh*take mushrooms!" I thought...But was it in front of me or behind....I hesitated...decided behind ran through the door and turned around to close it to stare right into the face of a monster mid-lunge "Aurghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" I proclaimed as I died. And thats my lot for today I think!

Finished it.

I think it got a little less scary towards the end, but only because I was starting to get a little cocky I think and was running around more. Once you get a feel for how easy it is to hide (most of the time) it gets a little less scary.

Still, compared to other "scary" games, it did keep you on the edge of your seat right up till the end near abouts. Not as many epic chase sequences as I thought thered be, but to me thats a good thing as they freak me out.

Reading some discussions elsewhere there are a few people that dont like or get the ending(s). To be honest theres nothing not to like if you are a fan of Lovecraft. Its not following any of his stories, but it certainly could be within his mythos.

Scary games eh..

FEAR was a freaky for me, i have a tendancy to just grab weapon and try to run through level when things get like that.

There were a few bits in Amnesia where Id completed the task for an area and I just couldnt stand sneaking around in the dark again so just legged it to the exit.

I kinda have a feeling the game engine is made to produce monsters at different places/points based on how you are playing. Some bits were definitely scripted, but others were random. Youd see a monster walk past a corridor in the distance, and when you get there (after hiding for a bit) its no where to be seen in a dead end, so they appear and disappear at different points. I think (and hope) that more monsters would spawn if you ran around the place without being too careful, whilst people like me that resorted to sneaking in the dark and not really lighting too much up, got less monsters, but they appeared at worse times etc.
