Recordable standalone DVD players

DVD recordable  to media about £90
with 160GB HDD about £ 250

This is stupid !!! you can get a 160GB HDD for much less than the difference in price.

So I wonder, how hard can it be to fit a HDD into one of the cheaper models ?

I see your point .. but somehow I think its probably a bit more than that.  If it had an 80GB hdd inside and then for the 200GB model was another £200 then fair enough.  May be wrong ... have a look on the interweb!  Let us know your findings.

Its normally easy enough, but you loose the guarantee. You also need to know that the drive is compatible with the system. There have been plenty of peeps who have done this already and posted on line about it so go look before you buy.

Of course, if it doesnt have a suitable interface inside, and the DVD recorders usually dont, then you are stuffed.

Have a look for the lite-on models. They are less than £200 here with a 250gb HDD.

What about

???
Timeshift, Divx, MP3, Progressive Scan, etc.
