i heard a really rubbish rumour before:

Wii will be release in the UK Feb 07. However the news source was: Argos (yes the catalogue company). I doubt its true, however if the uk release is any longer than a week after US, im importing.

IT was march from then the febuary, Either way EU wont be till next year, US first then December Japan so not till new year for EU :/

I should think with the standard UK price Hike- £150 for wii basic with no bundled game.
1st part games of £40-45 and some 3rd party at £50
controler £29.99 and nun-chuck at £19.99 or £14.99

We will find out today anyway

Seems around the prices I had in my head well N64ish prices really....

Release i was hopeing for a christmas release to utterly destroy the PS3 chances of even getting off the floor :)

But at least Nintendo will admit and say that they are making them, and it takes time and they ship when they have enough to cover the area in a decent amount and the numbers they were saying looked very good.

PS3 will be hardly around and will ship as they are made and you will get what you can in your area and lucky to get one. I should expect it to be very ropey sales for a few months just down to the lack of availible machines let alone the cost.

Yes, the Core.  I know you have to buy a memory card/HD but still for what you get (alledgedly little more powerful than an Xbox1 which can be had for £80 at the most) it seems like an expensive deal for us.  Granted our prices include VAT and US quoted prices dont.

Aye, I wouldnt use it for DVDs even if it did.

Its seriously looking like the Wii is going to be the first console I buy within 2 years of its release date.  Its just too frickin clever for its own good.

Yes but the point is for many people having 20 boxes around their Tv is something they dont find Ideal and why the Apple ITV could be a real winner if dont right.

itd only work out an extra tenner or something if you imported it (even if they did screw you for import duty the amount you save [esp if you buy games] would be considerable).

Im a big fan of import gaming pretty much all my ds stuff was import, but ive always used usb plugs. A friend of mine whos also a huge import gamer tells me that the power converter for the america-uk PSU is quite touchy, and after a while of charging his DS it crackles and goes all weird, for his DS this aint too bad as its just a charger thats left on for an hour most, but the Wii will be left powered 24/7 so yeah, i dunno whether to import or not

Very clever move IMO, DVD functionality (much like the ps3 Blue-Ray Functionality) Would push the price up even more.

Id say its got enough features to make it cool, and not enough people would have used it as a dvd player to justify the move IMO.

OK, you need to buy a memory card (£18, and thats only 64meg, Wii has 512), the wifi adapter (£55) and the controller isnt wireless (£30 if you want that). Plus you need a game which is realistically £30 minimum if you pick one up on offer in Game at the minute.

So thats actually £303, or £333 if you want a wireless controller, just to give it almost the same basic funtionality as the Wii.

Not a flame (I love my 360) but you need to look at the extra stuff Wii has included (HD Graphics notwithstanding).
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo… Again.
