Depressed so got an MSI GeForce RTX 2070 super. Seems adequate although not astronomical FPS figures at 4K it's adequate for what I want.

Congrats on your new arrival :)

I've been impressed with the 2060 Super at 1920 x 1200, although I'm capping at 60FPS at the moment due to my rubbish monitors..

RTX although is a step in the right direction I don't think you will notice most of the time unless you are playing minecraft where the difference looks obvious (in the videos, it's not out yet). Quake 2 was OK (for a freebie) but wasn't mind blowing, might have been better if I played with and without side by side.. but lighting has significantly improved since the original came out!

Cyberpunk will support it and will likely buy that.. Doom Eternal and the new Mech Warrior apparently will, but will see what the reviews are like.. and Battlefield V has it if that's your kind of game..

What games are you playing out of interest.. I've been out of PC gaming so long.. I'm just playing Satisfactory and No Mans Sky at the moment, the latter being fairly old and not taxing the game..

Mostly a fairly old game called Guild Wars 2 with occasional forays into Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and The Division 2.

My gaming abilities are very much limited by my arthritis and fibromyalgia.

Strange problem, I have an older GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.0) Motherboard with Intel Core I7-3770K CPU. It does not like either the 2070 super or the old 970K graphics cards. Insert, power up, it goes to bios screen and hangs.

PSU is a 850 watt XFX, so should be beefy enough.

It might be 850W but it perhaps depends on what the rails are like as to whether the ones connecting to the graphics card are providing enough juice?
