Recommend an Android note app?
on: September 01, 2010, 15:20:21 PM
After a suggestion for a note app that actually has a full screen widget option, that is nice and easy to use. Could do with something for tasks/notes that is easy to add/delete/read notes on for things like door lock combinations and "to do".

Everything Ive found so far has a small widget, or none at all and isnt really suitable for what I am after.

What do you want the widget to do? Something like the text-message rolodex thingy?

I use springpad for my note taking needs as I like being able to come back to synced lists of books/films/tv etc that Im interested when Im sat at my PC but theres no widget AFAIK.

Yeah I discovered springpad whilst out at dinner tonight hehe. Seems to be alright.

Ideally I wanted a widget which would just take up the whole of one screen and allow for all notes to be displayed, as there are a few like room codes etc which would be handy to be immediately accessible rather than having to open the app and select the code app.

There are 2 widgets for springpad it seems, a small one which just has different add buttons, and a little larger one that takes up half the screen and lists one or two items, as well as the smaller versions buttons. This would be perfect if it would fill the screen.

Bah, nothing is ever straight forward.

Springpad - Looked to be perfect except the widget is buggy as hell, and half the time when I select a note to view in the app it views the latest note instead.
Evernote - technically does the same stuff. Problem is Id rather the menu systems were the other way round, with existing notes being listed and having to do more presses to add a note, rather than instant note adding being available but having to go through a menu or search for a note. Also having to download the notes all the time isnt great, when considering that I generally need these apps when I am holding stuff outside a keycoded door etc.

So I guess I am still hunting.
