Thatll be one of the titles I might get at launch next year rather than waiting to get pre-owned by the looks of that!

I think the Lmited edition has all the freebies offered by pre-order?

Pre Order from Game
John Marstons "Deadly Assassin" outfit causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed.  With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.

Pre Order from Amazon
The player who wields the exclusive Golden Guns receives more Fame for each kill.  The more Fame you get, the more in-game side missions become available.  So there will be more opportunities to duel, more kidnapped townsfolk to rescue and you can bribe lawmen for less.

Pre Order from HMV
There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher than the exclusive War Horse.  Whether storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness for hidden treasure, or outrunning the law, the War Horse gives gunslingers an advantage in nearly every situation.

So I’m taking that this is more like GTA with a more open world design? Because the last one only had that one small town that you could roam around in, which at the time I thought was a shame and that they had missed a trick by not doing GTA: The Wild West.

Watching the video with the minimap in the corner, my first thought was "GTA: Wild West"

Itll be a while before I can actually get the xbox anywhere near the TV in the lounge too so no problem there! Unless I finally sort out the xbox cabling to connect to my monitor I dont see me using the xbox much anytime soon, the lounge tv usually has my dad sat in front of it watching A: antiques B: War documentaries C: Last of the summer wine (delete as appropiate) so I dont get much chance to watch tv, and when I do I have to play catch up with everything that Ive had recorded...assuming my dad didnt delete it because it clashed with his recordings of cash in the attic and bargain hunters ><

Hah, I got horse-jacked near the train tracks, chased after the guy who stole my horse, and just as Im about to get back on, the train comes along and kills both him and my horse.

Also its cool how you can jump straight from your horse onto a moving train, though I havent tried killing/hog-tying the driver yet.

Went out to blockbuster, sold out, ended up getting ODST and Assassins Creed 2 for less than the cost of Red. Im looking forward to playing on the xbox on a screen which isnt so small and fuzzy I can read all the text and see what the control symbols are for quick time events now :D

Yes, it is indeed awesome. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDL_GcXoQIQ) :P

Went as far north (the snowy forest) as I could in free-roam; theres an extensive mine/cave network up in those mountains, with an exit coming right out of the side of a cliff. :)

How does it play? Is it pretty much like Oblivion or Fallout, i.e a huge open world to explore?

Yup. About the same size (http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/9610/worldofrdr1.png) as Oblivion I think.
It takes a while for the map to fully open up though (also why you cant swim, I suppose).

Finished it, such a sad ending. I want more! Multi-player, though very good, just doesnt have that same atmosphere to it.
