Being a Gamer Dad

IT SUCKS
- First of all finding the time to game with kids is a mission in itself.
- When you do get to play you setup and it is either
1. Windows or game updates needed - There goes your window
2. Interruptions: Mostly from the wife, sometimes the kids. Since most games I enjoy are online and most games do not have a pause button these days it is hard.

The other annoyance is that people I know are only Dad's and working and all kinds and not gamers. Just not in those circles any more. It is hard to meet people online because your not on consistently or at regular times to make friends that way so online play is not as fun as it could or can be.

Hate it. Want it, but its so annoying.

Anyone else game/try to or anything? How you going on that?

I have 7 Switch games still sat in their plastic wrap and I pre-ordered Diablo II Resurrected; its been a year and I've not even booted that up once. I have hundreds of Steam and Epic free games I have never played and an Xbox One X sat in the box that's never been unpacked since I moved house three years ago.

This is why I'm not buying a PS5 even though I want one

Oh and for the reasons you stated above, I have zero interest in gaming online with others now and would much rather enjoy solo games I can play without worrying about interruptions or keeping to a schedule with others. The last time I did any serious online gaming was with some old work colleages on the GTA5 heists and a bit of Quake Champions to see how rusty I was, but that was when I only had one infant. I'm looking forward to the days I get my evenings back or the kids are old enough to game with!
