For some reason I feel that the media companies would already have had a shot at spotify etc if they were really worried, and that the big labels would have blocked a lot of the music which is on there.

Maybe ultimately spotify will become a niche thing for smaller bands, a more efficient myspace for bands so to speak, with the mega bands still going through the CD format.

And with music, there are those like me, who buy CDs, and many who buy digital downloads. We provide the revenue stream so the hippies stoners can continue to have a 400gb hard drive full of mp3s. But these people have no money and wouldnt buy the music even if piracy was somehow removed forever.

I remember your immense DVD collection...

I love spotify and it makes it a lot easier to introduce a lot of people to different areas of music, got some really good playlists, depending on how things go over xmas with how much music is added I think Im going to shell out for a year sub to use with the iPhone :)

Its a random mish mash of the tracks Ive liked a lot as Ive gone through different things. Pretty chilled, not been in the mood for heavy stuff lately.
