Tech behind the Mandalorian

I have to say when I watched this I was very impressed. You still do your CGI work for the scenes but you can quickly set that scene, give references for the actors but not only that you can get reflections taking place on objects and get lighting and colour on objects without having to try and fudge that in CG.

They are going for where they are strong, creating background has been decent for a  little while bot this puts it on par with a lot of other CGI.

Even so you still get times when it's absolutely fabulous, as in LotR and Terminator 2 but also terrible as in the film with the Princess Leia fake.

On that they had a short amount of time to add that in after some re-writes. That and then they also put in the Darth Vader scene they put together just months before release. It is all about time.

Still some very bad CGI considering what Terminator 2 managed.

Bad CGI is BAD CGI. You will have watched countless TV Shows and never even noticed.
Take Suits, several city scenes are all CG.
This is old but highlights it:
